Sunday, April 7th at the Denman Community Hall, Concerts Denman Presents a double bill comedy show with local standup comedians Syd Bosel, Nash Park, and sketch/improv comedy troupe Down to Clown. It’s always a good time to laugh!
Syd Bosel spills your life out onto the stage, as she shares her tales of “adult” children, being married for 1,000 years, and other glories of nature. Her favorite reviews: “That older lady was really funny” (a Gen Z patron walking past her) and “My wife laughed so hard that she peed her pants”.
Syd placed first and was voted Fan Favorite, in the 2018 “BC’s Funniest New Female Comic”, was a finalist in the 2019 “Great Canadian Yuk Off” and 2nd (out of 65 comics) in the “Funniest Person with a Day Job” Competitions. In 2023, she got 4 Yeses in “Canada’s Got Talent”.
Nash Park is a stand-up comedian born in the small town in northern BC. After high school Nash moved to Victoria BC and spent years chasing creative projects until he discovered his love for stand-up comedy. After just one taste, he was completely hooked. Since then Nash has been regularly performing his high-energy, hard-hitting stand-up to crowds all throughout BC. Nash is also founder of OK, DOPE, a comedy collective that creates and produces live shows, podcasts, and comedic content. Nash has traveled all throughout BC with the OK, DOPE Stand-up Comedy Tour and is the host of OK, DOPE’s flagship production is The Late Night Show with Nash Park, a live monthly show that combines stand-up, improv, and sketch all within the structure of a classic late night talk show. When not on stage you can hear him, alongside Alex Forman, as one half of the OK, DOPE Podcast.
The Comox Valley’s own Sketch/Improv Troupe Down To Clown presents their partially improvised sketch comedy: Definitely not an MLM. Down to Clown consists of local improv comedians Amber Cella, Chris Wood, Joel Fox, Megan Rose and sound/lighting tech Trond Halle.
Amway, Beach Body, Tupperware, Arbonne, surely we’ve all had someone in our lives try to sell us these products. Definitely not an MLM is a partially improvised comedic exploration of the intriguing and shady world of Multi Level Marketing with Down to Clown’s signature interpretation of how one moves through the ranks of the be your own boss babe world. Be prepared to be dissuaded from ever dipping your toes into the lower ranks of a pyramid scheme with Down to Clown’s 45 minute musical dramatization.
Tickets for the show are $25 advance/$30 at the door, available at Abraxas Books and the General Store by this weekend. Doors at 6:30 pm, show at 7:00 pm. The material in this show is for adults and mature audiences only 
It is an early show so folks can take the last ferry home, so will be done before 9pm:)
